Thamesmead, South East London. A 2.5 acre mad made lake which holds carp to over 30lb with a good head of doubles as well, most fish in this lake go up to a good size including tench to 9lb and pike to upper 20's. Tickets can be bought on the bank and cost about 8 for two rods, you can also buy a season ticket which costs about 75, 25 for disabled & 10 for juniors... no night fishing is allowed here and we think there is still a close season on this water which is good to see. Clapham Common Pond
A small lake on a public common in SE London well stocked with carp to over twenty lbs. No tickets on this small lake one of the few places left to offer free fishing, the fishing can be fun and fast on this lake or it can be quite difficult for no apparent reason, but that's carp fishing!

Harefield Lake
A gravel pit of over 40 acres, one of the best in the country with many big fish  to over 40lb. There is a member ship system in operation on this lake that apparently  is quite difficult to get onto now days but if you want to try call Boyer Leisure on 01895 444707.

Lizard Lake
A small pit of one and a half acres in West Drayton which contains carp to over 30lb, this is more of a bag up water as most are low doubles but as its a small lake you have a good chance of getting a biggie if you can get through the smaller stuff. Day Tickets on the bank cost 8 for two rods and night fishing must be arranged before you go. For more info Tel: 07931 255897.

Victoria Park Lake
A nice sized park lake situated off Old Ford Road between Bethnal Green and Bow, mostly shallow with two islands. The lake contains mostly double figure common carp to around the 20lb mark, the odd mirror carp here and there too. A typically busy park lake with tons of dog walkers, tourists, loonies and so on which can make the fishing far from peaceful but still can be enjoyable - you can grab a view of the fish here - http://website.lineone.net/~ken_goldfinch/photos.htm

Walthamstow Reservoirs
A great complex of reservoirs all in the Ferry Lane area of Tottenham & Walthamstow, the true potential of this complex is probably yet to be seen many 20's & 30's are caught here on regular basis. This complex basically has something for everyone wanting to fish in London, name a species & you'll find it there and all of them reaching good sizes. The carp fishing ranges from the relatively easy fishing of the No1 reservoir (soon to be converted to a coarse/match venue), to the very difficult, large & largely unexplored High Maynard reservoir. The only let down with this complex  is that there is no night fishing. Day tickets are 8 for 2 rods or 12 for 3 rods per day and there are season tickets available for Low & High Maynard & Lockwood all one one ticket and there is a season ticket available for West Warwick Tel: 0208 8081527

A 4 acre lake in West Drayton, West London with carp well into the twenties, season tickets are 40 Tel: 01753 630302
